Aston Villa boss confirms Elmohamady will start against Middlesbrough
The Egypt national team captain hasn’t started a game for Aston Villa since their 1-0 loss to QPR on October 26, with Alan Hutton replacing him since then.
However, Hutton picked up his fifth yellow card of the season on Wednesday and will serve a one-match ban, meaning that he will miss the Middlesbrough clash.
Dean Smith has confirmed that Elmohamady will replace Alan Hutton, saying: “Elmo is our right-back at the moment, and without Hutton, Elmo will certainly come in.”
The 31-year-old Egypt international has missed only two games for Aston Villa this season, scoring two goals and assisting four in 18 games across all competitions.
Elmohamady will do his best to take advantage of the opportunity and help his team extend their unbeaten run.
