Hegazi delighted to score winner against Swansea, eyes clean sheets
Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi has set sights on keeping more clean sheets with West Brom, but admitted getting three points are more important.
Hegazi has been one of the Baggies’ stand out performers this season, helping them sit fourth on the championship table, only three points behind leaders Norwich City.
He has made 19 outings for West Brom this season, scoring the winner during his side’s last game against Swansea City, while also providing one assist.
The Ismaily youth product has revealed his delight at scoring the winner at the Liberty Stadium, and added that he is eyeing to get more clean sheets this season.
“It was a tough game and we got the three points which are very important to us at this time of the season,” Hegazi told his club’s official website.
“We need to keep going and I’m delighted to get the winning goal. I’m very happy for the team.
“We trained a lot on corners this week so we are very happy to help the team to win a tough away game.
“For sure, we need to get clean sheets in the next few games, but the important thing for us is that we’re winning. I’m not happy with the goal we conceded but we are trying to be more solid at the back.
“For me, the three points is always more important, but a clean sheet for the goalkeeper and the defence would be great for us. It will help us get an easier win,” he added.
Ahmed Hegazi’s West Brom are currently preparing for their next encounter against Brentford on Monday, December 3 at The Hawthorns.
