Salah comes sixth as Modric ends Ronaldo, Messi’s dominance to win Ballon d’Or

has arrived sixth in the final ranking of the Ballon d’Or as managed to break Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s monopoly on the glorious individual prize.

Salah had made it to the final three-player shortlist for FIFA the Best Men’s Player of the Year along with Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in September.

The 26-year-old forward finished third in the annual FIFA award behind the winner Modric and Ronaldo who came in the second place.

The Egypt star also came third behind Ronaldo and Modric in the battle for the UEFA Player of the Year.

Modric has succeeded in ending a long-lasted 10-year dominance from Ronaldo and Messi over the Ballon d’Or to win his the award handed by France Football for the best player in the world.

The Real Madrid and Croatia hero was followed by Cristiano Ronaldo in the second place and Antoine Griezmann third. Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Salah held the fourth, fifth and sixth place respectively.
