November 2018 KingFut Pharaoh of the Month: Mohamed Salah
This month’s KingFut’s Pharaoh of the Month award, which recognizes the best Egyptian athlete of November 2018, goes to Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian King is back again with his blistering form proving the doubters wrong after scoring three goals and assisting once during the month of November. Salah’s Premier League goal tally reached 7 goals, one goal away from the top scorer, Sergio Aguero.
The 26-year-old also became Egypt‘s third top goal scorer with 39 goals in 62 caps, behind Hossam Hassan and Hassan El Shazly, after netting the winning goal against Tunisia in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Salah managed to surpass the likes of Mohamed Aboutrika, Ahmed Hassan and Amr Zaki.

Salah’s first goal of the month came against Fulham in the 12th round of the Premier League. During the first half, Fulham appeared to take a surprise lead when a placed cross found Fulham’s striker, Alexsander Mitrovic, who directed a header to the bottom corner.
While the striker was celebrating his goal, the linesman flagged it for offside and seconds later Liverpool started a counter attack through Trent-Alexander Arnold passing the ball to Salah, who with his blistering speed managed to beat the offside trap and go one on one before placing his shot past Fulham’s goalkeeper.
During the international break, Egypt topped Group J for the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after defeating Tunisia 3-2 in a thrilling match. In the dying minutes of the game was heading to a 2-2 tie before Salah scored Egypt’s winning goal after a great one-two play with Al Ahly’s Salah Mohsen, chipping the ball over Tunisia’s goalkeeper and sending Egypt to the top of the group.
The Egyptian scored his third goal of the month as the Reds hosted Watford at Anfield. Sadio Mane was able to find space on the left to feed Mohamed Salah inside the penalty area and the Egyptian successfully reacted and sent the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs into the back of the net.
Once again the Egyptian King has proved that he is not a ‘one season wonder’ with Liverpool who are still unbeaten in the Premier League and currently sit second with 33 points, two behind title holders Manchester City. Salah’s performances with the Reds earned him the Liverpool player of the month of October and winning voted by the fans as Liverpool’s Goal of the Month for October.
