Degla defender Mahmoud Marei: My move to Al Ahly could be finalised in 48 hours
Wadi Degla center back Mahmoud Marei has revealed that his transfer to Egyptian Premier League title holders Al Ahly could witness a breakthrough in the coming 48 hours.
Marei has shone in Wadi Degla’s ranks this season and managed to earn 10 appearances for the Yellow & Blacks in the Premier League this season, and also score three goals in the domestic competition.
“Negotiations with Al Ahly is being done with my agent and not with me directly. However, there isn’t a formal offer until now,” Marei told Al Hadath channel.
“Certainly I welcome a move to Al Ahly, any player has that dream but I am focusing with my team at the moment. In case my transfer to Al Ahly goes ahead I will be joining to become a starter and not just join them for the sake of it.”
Should Al Ahly sign the 20-year-old defender it would be the Red Devils’ second winter signing from Wadi Degla after signing club’s playmaker Mohamed Mahmoud on a four-and-a-half year deal.
