Zamalek defeat Al Masry 2-0 to cement the top spot in the Egyptian Premier League

Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ scored as Zamalek extended their impressive unbeaten run when they defeated Al Masry 2-0 in the Egyptian Premier League.

The Whites started on the front foot, as Kahraba unleased a first time screamer from the edge of the box, making it 1-0 just eight minutes into the game.

In the 36th minute, Hamdy Nagguez came close to scoring, but his half-volley effort cannoned off the bar.

Youssef ‘Obama’ doubled Zamalek’s lead just two minutes later, when he converted Nagguez’s accurate ground cross into the back of the net from a close range.

The Green Eagles tried to reduce the deficit in the second half, however, the Whites maintained strong defence and composure until the referee blew the full time whistle.

Following the game, Zamalek top the league table with 35 points ahead of their clash against Ismaily of the 31st of December. Meanwhile, Al Masry moved to the 12th spot with 16 points and are set to face Arab Contractors next matchweek.

Mohammed Salama is a 21-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
