Saudi side Al-Shabab rubbish Mahmoud Trezeguet rumours
Saudi side Al-Shabab have rubbished media reports claiming they are interested in signing Egypt international Mahmoud Trezeguet.
Trezeguet has been at Kasimpasa since July 2017, joining the club on loan from Anderlecht, before they made the move permanent last summer.
He has been linked with several clubs, namely Slavia Prague, Sevilla, VfB Stuttgart, Olympique de Marseille, Watford, and even Qatari side Al Rayyan.
Some Turkish outlets have recently reported that the Egyptian is set to move to Saudi side Al Shabab next January as he is unhappy at Kasimpasa, however, the club’s media representative has denied the reports.
“There is no truth in the rumors that we are interested in the Egyptian player known as ‘Trezeguet’,” Al Shabab media representative Ahmed Al Masoud posted on Twitter.
Trezeguet has scored 21 goals and provided 13 assists in 47 games with Kasimpasa, and the club’s sporting director admitted that Mahmoud could leave the club for the right price.
Kasimpasa are currently second in the Turkish Super League with 26 points, four behind leaders İstanbul Başakşehir. Their next game will be against Menemen Belediyespor in the cup on Thursday.
