Raja Casablanca forward linked with move to Al Ahly
The 22-year-old has been one of the main reasons behind Raja Casablanca’s CAF Confederation Cup triumph, scoring 12 goals in the competition.
And he has been linked with a move to Cairo giants Al Ahly, who are looking to make several signings next January to turn their fortunes after losing the CAF Champions League and the Arab Club Championship.
According to HeSport, the player’s agent has arrived in Cairo on Wednesday and met with Al Ahly’s representatives to discuss a potential deal.
They Moroccan news outlet added that Al Ahly have agreed a fee of $1.5 million to sign Benhalib, with the signing expected to be announced soon.
Mahmoud Benhalib is a product of Raja Casablanca youth product and made his senior debut for the team in 2015, scoring 12 goals and assisting 10 times in 46 league appearances since then.
If the deal goes through, Al Ahly will have to sell one of their foreign players duo the foreign players’ quota. They currently have Moroccan forward Walid Azaro, Tunisia international Ali Maaloul, Salif Coulibaly of Mali, and Nigerian winger Junior Ajayi.
