Al Raed against Al Ahli ends in goalless stalemate
Al Raed XI: Doukha, Al Fahad, Atwa, Belkaroui, Al Shamekh, Ateen, Amora, Hammoudan, Hasani, Farhan, Bangoura.
Al Ahli XI: Al Owais, Al Mowalad, Al Fatil, Diaz, Abdel Shafy, Souza, Al Mogahwi, Jurado, El Said, Ghareeb, Al Soma.
As expected, from the beginning of the game Al Ahli dominated possession. Atwa had his work cut out to keep a top striker such as Al Soma at bay, but he managed to make it up to the half time interval with their clean sheet intact.
Early in the second half, the only real talking point of the match came when Chilean defender Paulo Diaz was sent off for Al Ahli. Abdallah El Said was the unfortunate player to get subbed off as they brought on Alexis to shore up the defence, but the red levelled the playing field for the remainder of the game as it finished 0-0.
The result means that Al Ahli are now 3rd in the league, while Al Raed are in 11th place. Al Ahli’s next game sees them host Al Shabab next Saturday at 5:25PM Egpytian time, as Al Raed have a tricky game away at Al Nassr.
