Egypt reach 2018 Beach AFCON semifinal after defeating Madagascar

have booked a place in the semifinal after defeating Madagascar 4-2 in their second Group A encounter on Monday.

 had beaten Morocco 6-1 in their opening game of the 2018 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations which takes place in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Eight teams are taking part in the finals which are being held from 8 to 14 December, with the winners and runners-up qualifying for the World Cup in Paraguay.

Mohamed Samir gave Egypt the lead, he was followed by Mohamed Abdelnaby who doubled the Pharaohs’ lead three minutes into the first half. However, they were stunned by two successive goals that brought Madagascar back to the tie.

Just before the end of the first half, Egypt managed to take the lead once again through Mostafa Aly. His goal was supported by Ahmed El-Shahat’s strike which assured the tournament’s hosts are winners.

Egypt have secured semifinal qualification after reaching the sixth-point mark regardless of the final group game against Ivory Coast.
