have confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the 2018 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations with a big 10-3 victory over .

Eight teams are taking part in the finals which are being held from 8 to 14 December, with the winners and runners-up qualifying for the World Cup in Paraguay.

The Pharaohs were drawn in group A alongside Ivory Coast, Madagascar, and Morocco. They started their campaign with a 6-1 win over Morocco, before beating Madagascar 4-2.

The result of this game wouldn’t have changed both teams’ places in the group as Egypt were already qualified for the semis, while Côte d’Ivoire were already out after losing their opening two games.

Following the win, Egypt are top of the group with nine points, three more than second-placed Morocco, who secured their place in the semi-finals following a 6-4 victory against Madagascar.

The Pharaohs will now face group B runners-up Nigeria on Wednesday, December 12, while Morocco will be up against title holders Senegal.

Egypt have never managed to win the tournament before, with their best result coming in 2006 and 2011 when they finished third.
