Salah leads Liverpool to Champions League round of 16

Egypt international Mohamed Salah’s goal against Napoli lead Liverpool to the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool have beaten Napoli 1-0 in their final group stage game in the Champions League and have secured a place in the round of 16.

Just eight minutes into the game Salah nearly opened the scoring but miss-controlled the ball inside the penalty area. One minute later Napoli captain Hamsik took a powerful shot but it went over the bar.

In the 22nd minute Said Mane scored a goal but was ruled offside. 12 minutes later Salah opened the scoring after a great individual effort, by dribbling past Mario Rui and Koulibaly.

In the 51st minute Salah got an opportunity to score his second goal but his shot went just wide.

In the 72nd minute Napoli goalkeeper saved a very dangerous shot from Mane, keeping his side in the game. Seven minutes later Jose Callejon was very close to scoring the equalizer but missed an open goal.

In the 87th minute Mane missed an open goal after a great play with Mohamed Salah.
Five minutes later Alisson made a heroic save after Polish striker found himself alone inside the penalty area.

Sadio Mane missed yet again another easy opportunity as he found himself in a one on one position with Ospina his shot went wide.

The Reds are also currently on top the Premier League table with 42 points and remain unbeaten. They will face sixth-placed Manchester United in their next game on December Sunday 16.
