Marwan Mohsen scores again as Al Ahly claim full three points against Nogoom FC
Marwan Mohsen and Momen Zakaria both scored as Al Ahly defeated Nogoom FC 2-0 in the Egyptian Premier League.
The Reds started in an electrifying fashion, when Mohamed Sherif found the back of Nogoom’s net, however, it was ruled out for offside in the 23rd minute.
Just seven minutes later, Mohsen opened the scoring for the Red Devils as he finished Ahmed El-Sheikh’s defence-splitting pass past Nogoom’s goalkeeper Ahmed Saad. This is the striker’s fourth goal in the last three games.
15 minutes into the second half, El-Sheikh wasted a glorious chance to extend Al Ahly’s lead as his powerful shot sailed over the crossbar.
In the dying moments of the game, super sub Momen Zakaria doubled the scoreline when he calmly converted a loose ball, after Amr El-Sulaya’s initial shot got deflected off Nogoom’s defender.
The win takes Al Ahly to the fifth spot with 23 points, ahead of their away encounter against Dakhleya on the 26th of December. Meanwhile, Nogoom FC occupy the 13th spot with 17 points and will face Tala’a El-Geish on the 23rd.
