Sam Morsy: The Championship is very unpredictable
Wigan have been struggling this season as they are currently 16th on the Championship league table with 25 points.
“The Sky Bet Championship is renowned all over the world because of its unpredictability; the nature of it means that absolutely anything can happen on matchday,” Morsy told the EFL website.
“Every level you go up, there’s a difference, for sure. Time flies by with so many fixtures but you have to enjoy it. For us, it’s about getting a run together; we’ve had lots of injuries but I’m sure we’ll get going again.
“It’s a time we’re going to cherish and enjoy, we’re in a very privileged position as footballers, so of course we’ll enjoy the Christmas fixtures. Hopefully, we’ll pick up some good results along the way.”
Morsy is set to captain the Latics in their upcoming game against tenth-placed Birmingham City and will be looking to continue their strong form at home.
“Home form is massive and ours has been impeccable,” he added. “Even against Derby County, a game we narrowly lost with 10 men, I thought we were the better side.
“Home form is definitely important, if you can pick up three points in front of your fans at the weekend it’s good. We know that away form is something we have to improve.
“I always enjoy games against the Midlands Clubs, we managed to beat West Brom which was obviously great and it would be brilliant to beat Birmingham on Saturday too.”
