Egypt international Hussien El-Shahat still can’t believe how Ramos managed to clear his effort off the line in the Club World Cup final.

The Egyptian started for in the final as they lost 4-1 to European giants Real Madrid, who became the successful team in the history of the competition with record four titles.

Two minutes before Modric opened the scoring for Real Madrid, Hussien El-Shahat launched an impressive solo run, dribbling past and Courtois before his shot was cleared off the line by the Spanish defender.

“Thank god for everything, this is football and there must be a winner and a loser,” El-Shahat told Dubai Sports.

“We played really well until we conceded the first goal, and after that, the game turned around. We have now to focus on the AFC Champions League to play in the Club World Cup again.

“I don’t know how Sergio Ramos cleared my shot off the line, it was an unbelievable chance,” he added.

On playing against Marcelo, El-Shahat said: “We played against a big team and Marcelo is the best left-back in the world, but we were able to attack from that side.”

El-Shahat was one of the main reasons behind Al Ain’s successful World Cup campaign, scoring once against Espérance de Tunis in the quarter-finals.
