Zamalek‘s manager, , states that the Whites were dominant over AS CottonTchad despite losing 2-0 in the second leg of the  first round.

The White Knights have managed to secure their place in the playoffs round following a 7-2 aggregate victory over .

Following the match, the Swiss coach stated, “We were dominant the whole game; yet, our offense efficiency in front of the goal was very poor. We wasted many easy chances that could have handed us the win.”

“The two goals we conceded were due to obvious defensive mistakes from wrong positioning and losing concentrations in the last minutes of the match. CottonTchad were very organized during the whole 90 minutes of the match and worked on tightening the spaces for the players.”

Gross added, “Besides the horrific state of the field, the team lacked precision in passing the ball around. We are having a very hard time due to the pressure from the high number of domestic and African matches. I made sure to divide the players into groups, one of which travelled with us and the other stayed in Cairo.”
