Egypt’s Abdel Nader shines as OKC Thunder claim victory over Phoenix Suns
Egyptian basketball star Abdel Nader had his career night when he led his side the Oklahoma City Thunders to a 118-102 victory over the Phoenix Suns.
Lucky for Abdel Nader, both Paul George and Alex Abrines were not able to take part in the game, while Terrance Ferguson was substituted after just seven minutes due to illness.
The team needed someone to step up and Abdel Nader was more than ready to shine. The player managed to present spectacular performances earning 18 points on just 13 shots (7-13 from the field), though he only scored 16 points the entire season.
“He works every day, he comes in and competes at a high level,” Oklahoma City Thunder and seven-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook praised Nader after the game. “I’m happy to see the work pay off for him.”
By halftime, the Egyptian star surpassed his previous career high of 11 announcing his high potentials and ability to help improve his team.
The 25-year-old joined Oklahoma City Thunders in July 2018 after being traded by Boston Celtics in exchange for Rodney Purvis and cash considerations.
