are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder in January after he struggled to earn playing time in the first half of the season, according to reports.

The 26-year-old midfielder has struggled to gain playing time so far this season as he only featured in seven games for the Gunners, including a single appearance in the Premier League against Burnley.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery revealed he spoke with Elneny among other players regarding the lack of playing time.

According to the Mirror, Elneny will ponder the available options in January before making a decision about his future, with Leicester being interested in acquiring the Egypt international from Arsenal.

The Evening Standard supported the Mirror’s claims about Elneny’s future being far from Arsenal and stated that the player has been told to leave Arsenal on loan.

The Foxes occupy the eighth place in the Premier League table with 28 points after 20 rounds this season.

Mohamed Elneny has joined Arsenal in January 2016 from FC Basel, and has since made 79 appearances for the Gunners, scoring twice while providing eight assists.

However, under Unai Emery, the Egyptian’s playing time was limited to the Europa League as he made five appearances in the group-stages, and started twice in the league cup and the Premier League.
