Napoli open talks with Kasimpasa over Mahmoud Trezeguet deal – Report
Egypt international winger Mahmoud Trezeguet has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Napoli in the January transfer window.
Trezeguet has been at Kasimpasa since July 2017, joining the club on loan from Anderlecht, before they made the move permanent last summer.
The 24-year-old is enjoying a great season with the Turkish outfit, having scored five goals and assisted the same amount in 17 games across all competitions.
His efforts helped his team finish the first round of the Turkish Super League in fourth place, only behind second-placed Trabzonspor on goal difference.
According to reports, the player wants to get out of the club next January and has attracted the interest of a number of clubs, including German side VfB Stuttgart, Al Rayyan of Qatar, and most recently Lazio.
However, Lazio are not the only Italian side to be linked with the Egyptian as Turkish newspaper Takvim revealed that Napoli have entered talks with Kasimpasa about a deal to sign Trezeguet.
Napoli are currently second in the Serie A, nine points behind leaders Juventus, and they were also drawn against Swiss club FC Zürich in the round of 32 of the Europa League.
Should he join Napoli, Trezeguet will become the first-ever Egyptian to wear the Blues’ shirt and will be the first Pharaoh to play in the Serie A since Mohamed Salah’s stint at AS Roma.
