Rodriguinho left unregistered by Pyramids as foreign players named
The former Corinthians player was a key component of Pyramids’ impressive spending in their first window since their inception, which saw many Brazilians join the club including Keno, Carlos Eduardo, Ribamar and Arthur.
However, the club’s Saudi owner Turki Al Sheikh has since withdrawn his financial backing of the club and as a result there has been a large turnover of players, especially those that are not native to Egypt.
Having made some early signings in the January transfer window, Pyramids have now named their foreign players for the second half of the season, and the list includes Keno, Eric Traore, Okechukwu and Cifuente.
Rodriguinho’s exclusion may be explained by the fact that he has been linked with a return back to Brazil, with Flamengo and Cruzeiro spearheading the interested parties.
In the meantime, Pyramids will focus on piling on the pressure to Zamalek in the title race or at least making their first appearance in the CAF Champions League by finishing in the top two, where they currently reside having beaten Al Ahly in their last game.
Pyramids’ next game is away at Al Masry on Tuesday 8th of January at 7:30PM Egyptian time.
