Egypt FA suspend Gennesh, El-Hany Soliman
Zamalek secured a 3-1 victory over Ittihad of Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League which helped the White Knights proceed eight points clear at the top of the Egyptian Premier League.
The committee’s chairman, Amer Hussein, announced a number of decisions that include fines imposed on Zamalek and Ittihad of Alexandria in addition to the suspension of players from both sides.
Ittihad will pay a 20,000 EGP fine after several Ittihad fans threw bottles and chairs, in addition to insults coming from their stands. Similarly, a 10,000 EGP fine was imposed on Zamalek also due to insults made by their fans.
After going through the referee’s match report, the committee decided to suspend both Mahmoud Gennesh and El-Hany Soliman for two games and impose a 10,000 EGP fine on them.
Ittihad’s Mahmoud Rezk was given a one-game suspension for receiving two yellow cards as well as team striker Khaled Amar and Zamalek’s Youssef Obama after both players received their third yellow cards.
The White Knights’ staff member Ahmed Zaher was also suspended for two games along with Ittihad’s staff member Ahmed Metwali.
As for Al Ahly’s clash with Pyramids FC, the committee revealed that Pyramids will be paying a 5,000 EGP fine for not sticking to the given number of fans allowed to enter the game, while their player Mohamed Hamdy, along with Al Ahly’s Walid Azarou and Walid Soliman will be suspended for one game for receiving their third yellow cards.
For Ismaily and Arab Contractors clash, each club will pay a 10,000 EGP fine due to insults coming from both stands towards the match’s referee, in addition to 10,000 EGP paid by Arab Contractors following the objection of the club’s technical staff after the match on the referee’s decisions.
Arab Contractors will also pay an additional 5,000 EGP fine for not sticking to the given number of fans allowed to enter the game.
