Ittihad of Alexandria duo join Saudi side Al Shoulla on loan
The Alexandria-based club needed to let go of two of their foreign players after the arrival of Nigerian forward Chuka and Brazilian defender Wallace da Silva in the January transfer window.
Ghanian forward Banahene only joined Ittihad in January 2018 from Iraqi side Al Minaa on a free transfer, but managed to score only five goals in 33 appearances and was deemed surplus to requirements at the Egyptian outfit.
On the other hand, Togo international Wilson Akakpo also moved to Ittihad in January 2018 from Al Masry, but struggled for game time this season, featuring just 11 times in the league.
The duo will join Saudi second-division side Al Shoulla, which is managed by former Zamalek boss Khaled Galal, for a fee of $100,000.
The club have Egyptian winger Mahmoud Shika in their ranks after he joined them on loan from Petrojet last summer.
Ittihad of Alexandria have a made a number of strong signings this winter, as they wanted to strengthen their squad ahead of the restart of the Arab Champions Cup and the Egypt Cup.
They were drawn against Saudi giants Al Hilal in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup and will face Ismaily in the same round of the Egypt Cup.
