Al Ahly’s Mohamed Mahmoud suffers ACL tear
Al Ahly have announced that Egypt midfielder and new signing Mohamed Mahmoud has torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament during the club’s encounter against Smouha.
Al Ahly returned back to winning ways on Tuesday after a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Smouha thanks to a penalty spot goal from Ali Maaloul
The former Wadi Degla midfielder has joined Al Ahly in January transfer window, making his debut against Pyramids after featuring for 17 minutes.
However in his first start with The Red Devils in Tuesday’s game against Smouha, Mahmoud has picked up an injury which forced him out after 57 minutes, and it was confirmed that he tore his ACL
Al Ahly’s director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz has announced to the club’s website that Mahmoud has suffered a cut in ACL in addition to a minimal tear in his knee cartilage.
Abdel-Hafiz has announced that Mahmoud will arrange with the club’s medical staff to undergo the needed surgery.
