Ahmed Hassan Mekky joins El-Gouna on loan from Smouha
Mekky joined Smouha in 2016, coming from Cairo giants Zamalek and played 29 games for the Alexandria based side, scoring seven goals while providing three assists.
This season, he featured only three times for Smouha, playing just 45 minutes without scoring or assisting a single goal.
Mekky is considered as an Egyptian Premier League veteran as he played a total of 171 games in the competition and scored 52 goals.
He will reunite with former manager Hamada Sedky, and will become El-Gouna’s fifth winter signing after deals for Serge Aka, Mahmoud El-Gharabawy, and Al Ahly loanees Ahmed Yasser Rayan and Ahmed Hamdi.
El-Gouna are currently 14th in the Egyptian Premier League with 19 points and their next game will be against Haras El-Hodood, meaning Mekky could make his debut against his former club.
