Al Ain president: We didn’t receive offers from Pyramids for Hussein El-Shahat
Al Ain president Ghanim Al Hajeri has refuted rumors that Pyramids and Turki Al Sheikh will battling out Al Ahly for the services of Egypt winger Hussein El-Shahat, lauding of the player for his sacrifice to join the Red Devils.
Al Ahly had confirmed the club-record signing of Egypt international Hussein El-Shahat from Al Ain on a long-term contract earlier this week.
A number of European and Gulf clubs were all interested in signing him, but the player’s strong desire to join Al Ahly played a huge role in the Reds’ finalising the deal.
Pyramids were rumored to be among El-Shahat suitors, but Al Ain president played down those claims.
“Al Ain have not received any offers from Turki Al Sheikh nor Pyramids and whoever is promoting those rumors is having an agenda and is trying to distort the good relations between us,” Al Hajeri wrote on Twitter.
“Hussein El-Shahat personified the best examples of love and belonging during [his sale] negotiations with Al Ahly through his desire and sacrifice, especially when he affirmed that money is not as much of a priority as reaching an agreement that satisfies all parties,” he added.
