OFFICIAL: Ismaily sign Osama Ibrahim from Smouha
The 25-year-old became the Yellows’ seventh signing of the winter transfer window in an attempt to strengthen their squad to save their horrific season.
Ismaily’s other signings include Wadi Degla goalie Mahmoud Reda on loan, Benson Shilongo from Smouha, Zamalek loanee Mahmoud ‘Dunga’, Nigerian forward Odah Marshal, Tanzanian forward Yahya Zayd from Azam FC and Ahmed Fathy ‘Castillo’.
Ibrahim is considered as one of the most experienced right-backs in the Egyptian Premier League as he played 66 games in the competition for ENPPI, Zamalek and Smouha.
He joined Smouha from Egyptian giants Zamalek on a free transfer in January 2018 and played just seven games for the Blues across all competitions.
The Ismailia-born player also won the Egyptian Super Cup with Zamalek during the 2016/2017 season.
He was also a regular with the Egypt U-20 national team as he played 23 international games and won the 2013 U-20 African Cup of Nations in Algeria.
Ismaily are currently in the relegation zone as they sit 16th on the league table with just 17 points.
They are also struggling in the CAF Champions League as they are currently bottom of Group C having lost their first game against TP Mazembe. They will face Tunisian giants Club African in their next game on January 18.
