Egypt international and Al Masry forward Ahmed Goma’a has arrived in Saudi Arabia to join Ohod Al Medina on loan until the end of the season.

Goma’a had joined Al Masry in summer of 2014 from El-Mansoura, playing over 125 games for the Port-Said based club since then.

He helped the team reach the 2017 Egypt Cup final and the Super Cup final, which they lost both to Al Ahly as well as playing a huge role in guiding the team to the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup semis, before losing to AS Vita Club.

This season, however, he hasn’t been in best of form, scoring only three goals in 16 appearances as Al Masry currently sit 13th on the Egyptian Premier League table.

In spite of this, Saudi side Ohod Al Medina have declared their interest in him, and beat off competition from fellow Saudi side Al Batin to land the Egypt international.

Goma’a will become the first Egyptian to ever wear the Ohod shirt, and the fifth Egyptian in the Saudi Pro League alongside Al Ahli’s Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, Al Wehda goalkeeper Mohamed Awad, Ettifaq’s Hussein El-Sayed, and Mohamed Atwa of Al Raed.

Ohod are currently bottom of the Saudi Pro League table with six points from 16 games, three less than 15th placed Ittihad Jeddah.
