Egypt draws with Hungary in World Championship

handball team secured a draw against in the fourth round of the World Men’s Handball Championship, maintaining their hopes to qualify for the main round.

The Pharaohs lost their opening game against four-time world champions Sweden, then lost their second game when they met Qatar. However, Egypt revived their hopes in the championship after defeating Argentina in the third round.

Egypt were drawn into Group D with Sweden, Hungary, Qatar, Argentina, and Angola, with the top three teams advance to the next round.

In a thrilling game, Egypt drew 30-30 with Hungary and are now in third position with three points. They’re currently waiting for the result of Qatar and Sweden clash.

Hungary dominated most of the first half before Egypt started an uprising that led them to stir the first half to a 14-14 tie.

The Pharaohs had the upper hand in the second half and led the game, however, two Egyptian players were suspended in the dying minutes which helped Hungary to score the equaliser which led the two teams to share points.

Egypt’s Ali Zein was announced Man of the Match after he scored seven goals for his side.

Now the Egyptians are aiming to defeat Angola when they clash on Thursday in the final round of the group stage to secure their qualification.
