Smouha announce Adel Abdelrahman as new manager
Egyptian Premier League outfit Smouha have appointed Adel Abdelrahman as their manager just hours after sacking Tarek Yehia.
Yehia has been dismissed following Smouha’s humiliating 4-0 loss to Nogoom FC in the 19th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
He failed to win any game during his time as the club’s head coach, drawing three games, while losing four, including a defeat to rivals Ittihad of Alexandria in the Egypt Cup.
Hours after the news, Smouha have announced that Al Ahly legend Adel Abdelrahman will take charge of the team, succeeding Tarek Yehia.
This will become Abdelrahman’s first big job in Egypt as he previously managed in Saudi Arabia, taking charge of Al Shabab, Ittihad Jeddah, Al Batin, and Al Wehda.
The 50-year-old was most recently in charge of Al Ahly’s youth team, where he left by mutual consent a couple of weeks ago.
Adel Abdelrahman is the third manager to coach Smouha this season after Ali Maher, who resigned earlier this season to manage ENPPI, and Tarek Yehia.
Following their big defeat to Nogoom FC, Smouha are currently ninth in the Egyptian Premier League with 23 points from 19 games, and their next game will be against ENPPI on Wednesday, January 23.
