El Geish sign Chisom Chikatara on loan from El Gouna
Tala’ea El Geish have signed Nigerian forward Chisom Chikatara from El Gouna until the end of the season.
Having joined the club from Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the summer, Chikatara failed to live up to expectations as he has scored just one goal in his eleven Egyptian Premier League appearances for El Gouna so far this season.
Chikatara will be hoping to regain the goalscoring form that earnt him a move to Wydad in 2016, as he had originally made his name in Nigerian football with Abia Warriors. Upon moving to Morocco, he scored just two goals in his two years playing in Botola.
Tala’ea El Geish are having a relatively good season so far, currently residing in 7th place, and they will hope that the signing of Chikatara will give them the push they need to challenge for a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Chikatara’s move is more of a surprise from El Gouna’s point of view, as even if he has not hit the ground running so far they may need an experienced striker as they are hovering just above the relegation zone at present.
The 24 year old may make his debut in Tala’ea El Geish’s next game which is against Pyramids on Saturday January 19th at 6PM Egyptian time.
