Ittihad of Alexandria announce signing of ex-Liverpool winger
The 25-year-old has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2021, becoming the club’s seventh winter signing.
Silva joined 2016 CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns after his contract with Greek outfits Levadiakos ended last March, however, after only six months he departed Masandawana.
The Guinea Bissau international previously played for Benfica and Liverpool at youth levels and holds a Portuguese passport.
He joins after having several stints at various clubs and countries, most notably Barnsley FC, Northampton Town, CSKA Sofia, and Uniao Madeira.
The club signed Wadi Degla experienced duo El-Sayed Salem and Karim Mamdouh just a few days ago as well.
With Silva’s signing, Ittihad have now completed their foreign player spots as Razack Cisse takes up the final place on the team while on loan from Zamalek.
Ittihad currently sit at 13th place in the league after playing 19 matches, and Silva could make his debut when they face Ismaily on Monday, January 28.
