Zamalek name squad to face Ittihad Tanger in CAF Confederation Cup

has named the set of players that will host in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend, as they look to reach the group stage following a goalless first leg in Morocco.

After the 0-0 draw in Morocco last Sunday, Zamalek will need to win in Cairo in order to progress to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup. As such, Christian Gross has named a strong squad to take on Ittihad Tanger for the second time, although he is still without his own Moroccan goal threat in Khalid Boutaib as he was not registered for this round of CAF competition.

Zamalek are also namely without Mostafa Fathi and Mahmoud Hamdy “El Wensh”, who are both injured.

The full squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mahmoud Gennesh & Emad El Sayed.

Defenders: Hazem Emam, Mohammed Abdel Ghani, Ahmed Abel-Fotouh, Mahmoud Alaa, Hamdi Nagguez, Abdullah Gomaa & Bahaa Magdy.

Midfielders: Tarek Hamed, Ferjani Sassi, Mahmoud Abdel Aziz , Mahmoud “Kahraba”, Ibrahim Hassan, Mohamed Antar, Youssef Ibrahim “Obama”, Ahmed Madbouli & Mohamed Ibrahim.

Strikers: Omar El-Said & Hamid Ahadad.

The match between Zamalek and Ittihad Tanger will take place on Saturday 19th of January at 7PM Egyptian time.
