Southampton’s Yan Valery to represent Tunisia

Southampton defender has decided to switch allegiance and play for Tunisia's senior team, having represented France's U-17 and U-18 teams.

Valery has participated in a total of 23 games for Southampton in all competitions, including 9 matches in the Premier League.

According to kawarji.com, the France-born right back has accepted to represent the Tunisian national team after being contacted by the and the Carthage Eagles coach , who reportedly managed to convince him.

Despite featuring for France U-18 team in seven games, the 19-year-old defender will be available for selection for Tunisia in the coming months.

Valery commenced his career in Rennes youth sector before he was sold to Southampton where he started within the U-18 teams, until earning promotion to the first team in January 2019.
