Egypt ranked 8th at World Championship following loss to Spain

However, the Pharaohs lost their chance to be among the final four as they lost to Denmark but then earned an important victory over Tunisia to qualify to the seventh-place play-off.

The Egyptians were narrowly leading the game in the first half 18-17 but failed to maintain their fierce performances in the second half. Spain took advantage of Egypt’s mistakes securing a comfortable lead and eventually snatched the seventh position as they won the game 36-31.

During the championship, the Pharaohs won three games, drew in two and lost four.
