Salif Coulibaly terminates contract with Al Ahly by mutual consent
Mali international defender Salif Coulibaly announced that he terminated his contract with Egyptian giants Al Ahly by mutual consent.
Coulibaly joined the Red Devils in 2018 on a free transfer and played 22 games across all competitions and scored three goals while providing two assists.
However lately he struggled for playing time as he only played 180 minutes in Al Ahly’s past seven games.
Coulibaly also saw this as an opportunity to join another club to get more playing time to secure a place in the Mali squad set to participate in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
Al Ahly director of football Sayed AbdelHafiz then issued an official statement regarding Coulibaly’s situation.
“The player received all his rights in accordance with the agreement we have with him, to make sure the relations between the club and his representatives remains strong.”
