Al Ahly‘s head coach, Martin Lasarte expressed his optimism on the return of the three injured starters, Salah Mohsen, Hossam Ashour and Hesham Mohamed.

The Reds are set to face Tanzanian side, Simba SC, in the CAF Champions League group stage clash, this Saturday at Borg El Arab Stadium.

In the pre-match conference, the Uruguayan coach talked about the match, stating “We have studied the opponent very well and we are aware that they have many fantastic players in all positions.”

He added, “We respect all teams, as we are aiming to top our group and eventually win the title. We are experiencing very difficult times due to the injuries, but these are problems beyond the capabilities of the coaching staff, who works efficiently to prepare all players.”

“I am optimistic on the return of Hossam Ashour, Salah Mohsen and Hesham Mohamed after recovering from their injuries. I believe in everyone’s chances. We might bring on any player such as Hamdy Fathy, who started against JS Saoura, right after joining the team’s African squad.”

Al Ahly currently tops group four of the Champions League group stage with four points from one win against AS Vita Club and a draw against JS Saoura.
