Former Liverpool player has dubbed Salah’s performance against Leicester as ‘awful’, adding that he should have been subbed off.

After Manchester City surprisingly lost against Newcastle the day before, Liverpool were disappointed to drop points against Leicester. While the Reds did still manage to extend the gap by a point, it was one of the poorer performances by this season.

This has been brought to the attention of ESPN pundit Steve Nicol, who played for Liverpool’s immensely successful side in the 1980s.

The Scot said “Salah was awful out there and I mean awful. Honestly he was the one who should have been substituted.”

He went on to delve into further problems for Liverpool, adding “I’m angry at the [refereeing] decisions. I’m happy that Liverpool gained a point and extended their lead. But I’m also a little worried because this is the second home game on the trot where Liverpool have struggled. And that might seem a strange thing to say because they beat Crystal Palace and they scored four.”

“But the truth is they lost three [goals] by horrible defending and they scored four goals but three were pure-and-utter luck. And then you get to Leicester and they never broke them down and they never looked like breaking them down.”

Liverpool’s next game is away at West Ham on Monday night at 10PM Egyptian time.
