Zamalek CC opponents: NA Hussein Dey beat Petro de Luanda at home
Algeria’s Nasr de Hussein Dey have beat Petro de Luanda 2-1 at home to move second in group D of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Group D consists of Nasr de Hussein Dey, Egypt’s Zamalek, Gor Mahia of Kenya, and Angolan side Petro de Luanda.
Earlier on Sunday, Gor Mahia stunned Zamalek with a 4-2 victory in Nairobi, moving to the top spot of the group.
NA Hussein Dey have also managed to claim the three points after a narrow 2-1 victory Petro de Luanda at Stade du 5 Juillet.
Mohamed Amine Tougai opened the scoring for the hosts with a bullet header after 19 minutes, before Walid Allati doubled his side’s lead from a free-kick in the 54th minute.
In the 78th minute, Vladimiro Felix managed to pull one back for the Angolan side, and they nearly equalised a minute later, but the Algerian goalkeeper denied them with a great save.
Following the result, Gor Mahia are currently top of the group with three points, ahead of Hussein Dey on goal difference, while Petro de Luanda and Zamalek sit third and fourth respectively with zero points.
