Mohamed Abdel-Shafy’s Al Ahli sack manager Pablo Guede
Saudi side Al Ahli Jeddah have sacked their Argentine manager Pablo Guede after a string of disappointing results.
Guede was appointed as Al Ahli boss last summer, taking charge of the club in 21 games, winning 12, drawing three, while losing six.
Despite the club winning their last three games, the club’s board have decided to sack Guede and appointed Yousef Anbar as an interim manager for the rest of the season.
Al Ahli are currently fourth in the Saudi Pro League with 33, 10 points behind league leaders Al Hilal, and one away from the AFC Champions League places.
Under Guede’s charge, the club was also knocked out of the Saudi King Cup, with the Arab Championship and the Champions League being their only chance of lifting a silverware this season.
The Jeddah-based club have Egypt international Mohamed Abdel-Shafy in their ranks and also had Abdallah El-Said, before selling him to Pyramids in January.
