The Egyptian national team has conceded a one-position drop in the latest world ranking released by FIFA for the month of January.

After the tournament in Russia, Egypt conceded a staggering 20-place drop to be ranked at 65 worldwide. The latest ranking puts Egypt 57th worldwide after finishing December at 56.

In comparison to African countries, Egypt is in 8th position with Senegal leading the way at 24th. Tunisia came second at 28th, Morocco third at 43rd, Nigeria fourth at 46th, DR Congo fifth at 51st, Ghana sixth at 52nd, Cameroon seventh at 56th and Egypt eighth at 57.

The Egyptian national team’s final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier will come next month against Niger as the Pharaohs attempt to improve their position having already qualified to the tournament.
