Ali Maaloul, Karim Nedved sign Al Ahly contract extension
Al Ahly duo and have signed new contracts with the Red Devils, which will extend their stay at the club.

Maaloul has joined in the summer of 2016 from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, and since then has become one of their most consistent players, making over 80 appearances for the club.

The 29-year-old Tunisia international has helped the club win two league titles, one Egypt Cup, and one Egypt Super Cup, as well as guiding them to two CAF Champions League finals.

He has scored ten goals and assisted 24 since his arrival, including six goals and six assists this season for the Reds as they currently sit third in the league.

Maaloul’s existing contract was due to expire at the end of the next season, before he agreed a new three-year contract, which will keep him at the club until July 2022.


Meanwhile, Ahly young midfielder Karim Nedved has also signed a five-year contract extension with the club after his recent impressive performances.

Karim Walid, known as Nedved, was promoted to the club’s first team in 2015, before spending two seasons on loan at Haras El-Hodood and Wadi Degla.

Following his return to his parent club, the 21-year-old faced a lot of criticism for his poor performances, however, this season it has been a completely different story.

Nedved has scored three goals and assisted twice for the Reds this season and is currently the club’s top scorer in the CAF Champions League, helping Al Ahly topping their group.

Overall, he has made 58 appearances for Al Ahly, scoring five goals and helping the Reds win two league titles, the Egypt Cup as well as the Egypt Super Cup.

Al Ahly are currently third in the Egyptian Premier League with 39 points, but still have three games in hand. Their next game will be against Simba SC of Tanzania away from home in the CAF Champions League.
