Amr El-Sulya extends contract with Al Ahly until 2022
Cairo giants Al Ahly have announced they have reached an agreement to extend Amr El-Sulya’s contract with the Reds for two additional years.
The news comes one day after duo Ali Maaloul and Karim Nedved signed new contracts with the Red Devils, which will keep them at the club until July 2022 and July 2024 respectively.
El-Sulya’s contract with Al Ahly was supposed to end in a year-and-half, meaning that following this contract renewal, he’ll stay at the club until July 2022 like his Tunisian teammate.
The former Ismaily-man joined Al Ahly on a free transfer in January 2016, coming from Emirati side Al-Shaab.
Since his arrival, he played 118 games across all competitions scoring nine goals and providing five assists. More specifically this season he played 19 games, scored twice and assisted further two.
The 29-year-old has lifted five trophies since joining Al Ahly, including three Egyptian Premier League titles, one Egypt Cup, and one Egyptian Super Cup.
This season Al Ahly are competing in both the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League. They are currently top of their group with seven points and sit third on the Egyptian League table with 39 points, with three games in hand.
