Al Ahly’s Saad Samir to miss Simba clash due to injury
Al Ahly are currently top of the group with seven points, three ahead of AS Vita Club, and four ahead of third-placed Simba, while JS Souara languish at the bottom of the group with two points.
Al Ahly had named a 21-man squad that will travel to Tanzania to face Simba SC, with Samir included in the list, however, he had to stay in Egypt to recover from his groin injury.
Samir’s absence could mean the return of one of Yasser Ibrahim or Rami Rabia to start alongside Ayman Ashraf in the heart of Al Ahly’s defence.
Director of football Mohamed Youssef has revealed that Samir’s injury is a minor one, and that the defender will be available for selection when they face Entag El-Harby on Saturday.
