France Football: Al Ahly ranked 21st biggest club in the world
Egypt giants Al Ahly have appeared in France Football’s assembled list of the top 30 clubs worldwide, occupying the 21st place jointly with Scotland heavyweights Celtic.
Al Ahly is known for being the Club of the Century in African football after being being recognised by CAF with the award in December 2000.
Al Ahly hold the record for the most decorated club in Egypt with 40 league titles, 36 cup titles and 10 Egyptian super cup trophies. On the top of that, the Red Devils are record holders for the teams with most titles in CAF Champions League after stepping on the podium on eight occasions.
France Football used certain factors with which they based the ranking of the top 30 teams including number of World Cup winners in team, Continent level titles won, market value of the squad, annual revenue, average attendance, mythical status of club and more.
Al Ahly were ranked in the 21st place with Celtic. Real Madrid was named as the biggest club in the world, followed by rivals Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
