Lasarte eyes away victory against Simba

Al Ahly coach Martin Lasarte has conceived that his team’s objective from their game against in the  CAF Champions League group stage is only the victory.

Al Ahly occupy the leadership of Group D with seven points after capturing a win in the first round against AS Vita Club, a draw against JS Saoura in Algeria before a massive victory over Simba in Alexandria.

A win against Simba in Tanzania would mean that the Red Devils have set a foot in the Champions League quarterfinals, and Lasarte have no intention to let a slip up from his players and not play for the three points in order to decide things early.

“We arrived in Tanzania to snatch the three points of the game against Simba. The team’s strategy in the CAF Champions League is to collect more points from the home and away games, so we just think of winning,” Lasarte said in the press conference.

“We suffer from the games’ sequence, which has caused the absence of more key-players. Some players will miss the game due to injuries, but we still have players in the same position who achieve our tactics.”
