Liverpool icon agreed alongside ESPN pundits and that they prefer having Sterling in their team over Salah.

Sterling has been having an amazing season with Manchester City, helping them sit top of the league with 65 points. He managed to score 14 goals and provided 15 assists in 33 games across all competitions thus far.

As for Salah, he’s been considered by many as having a slower season compared to last year, however, he’s still leading the race for the Premier League golden boot with 17 goals level with Sergio Aguero.

Adding to that, in 34 games up until now the Egypt international has scored 20 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions.

When asked who’d he prefer to have on his team, former Chelsea player Craig Burley replied: “I would say at the moment Sterling.

“Sterling has taken his game to another level. Everything. Touch, strength, vision. He really has,” he added.

Surprisingly Liverpool FC legend Steve Nicol agreed with Burley on this point: “Azpilicueta is arguably the most consistent and best right-back in the country. Sterling absolutely tore him apart, he didn’t know what to do.

“He didn’t know whether to close him, come off him, he couldn’t handle him for pace. You name it, he had Azpilicueta on toast.”

French Football expert Julien Laurens also acknowledged that the Man City winger is in a better form than Salah.

“I would go for Sterling right now, I agree with the boys,” Laurens said.

“I think he gives so much to this City team, whether it’s with goals or assists or even creating things. and I still think there is so much room for improvement left in .

“It is actually quite scary for the years to come,” he added.

Manchester City are currently on top of the Premier League table with 65 points, just above Liverpool on goal difference, however, the Reds have a game in hand.

Both teams will switch their focus to the UEFA Champions League as Liverpool will host Bayern Munich in the round of 16 on Tuesday, while City will travel to face Schalke a day later.
