Egypt midfielder was included in Arsenal’s flying squad to Belarus in order to meet in the first leg of the round of 32 in the Europa League.

Elneny’s Arsenal travel to Ukraine’s neighboring country Belarus to face Bate Borisov and former Arsenal fan-favourite Aleksander Hleb after draw put both sides against each other.

The 26-year-old midfielder has struggled for playing time with Arsenal under the guidance of new manager Unai Emery after he featured in just four Premier League games, in addition to another two in FA Cup and EFL Cup.

On the contrary, the former Basel player participated in five of Arsenal’s six group stages games in the Europa League. Elneny has only one assist as his sole sort of contribution to the Gunners’ goals this season.

Elneny was included by Emery in the squad that flew to Borisov to face Bate in the first leg meeting, before playing the second leg on February 21 at Emirates stadium.

Elneny was offered escape routes to Leicester City and Roma in order to gain more playing time but he opted to remain in London.
