El-Shennawy declared fit, Fathi and Azarou ready for Dakhleya encounter
Egypt giants Al Ahly have retrieved starting goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy for the next game in the Egyptian Premier League against Dakhleya after sustaining a muscular injury in the last few days.
El-Shennawy had pulled out of Al Ahly’s starting lineup after feeling a muscular issue during the warm-up ahead of the Red Devils’ game against Entag El-Harby on Saturday.
The 30-year-old has returned to Al Ahly training normally on Monday and has been declared ready to play by the team’s medical staff.
El-Shennawy has participated in 10 of Al Ahly games in the Egyptian Premier League this season, in addition to their four encounters in the 2019 Champions League group stages.
Veteran defender Ahmed Fathi and Moroccan hitman Walid Azarou have also recovered and joined up the team’s training after coming back from injury.
The league title holders currently occupy the third place in the table with 42 points from 19 games.
