Ohod to terminate Momen Zakaria’s contract, says chairman
Ohod completed the signing of Egypt’s Ahmed Goma’a on loan last window from Al Masry, before signing Al Ahly outcast Momen Zakaria on loan as well.
Unlike Ahmed Goma’a, who already scored for the club since his arrival, Momen Zakaria appeared to be technically unfit, as the player participated in a total of 188 minutes for Al Ahly this season, starting just two games across all competitions.
The club’s chairman Saud Al-Harbi confirmed that they will terminate Zakaria’s contract without him playing a single minute for them, saying that the player has an issue.
“At first, I do not want to talk too much about Zakaria because we are preparing to issue an official statement on Saturday regarding the player’s condition,” Al-Harbi said.
“Momen Zakaria was suffering from an injury before joining us, which didn’t appear in the first medical test. We will explain everything in an official statement on Saturday,” he added.
Asked if the player will continue with the club until the end of his contract, Al-Harbi replied: “No, it’s impossible for Momen to play football in the upcoming period.”
Momen Zakaria signed for Ohod in the last week of January in his second stint in Saudi Arabia, after spending the second half of last season on loan at Al Ahli Jeddah.
The Al Medina-based club are currently struggling bottom of the league with 12 points after 21 games this season.
