El-Sulya returns as Al Ahly name squad for Vita Club clash
Al Ahly boss Martin Lasarte has named his 21-man squad that will take part in the Reds’ next game against in the CAF Champions League.

The Cairo giants currently sit top of their group with seven points, one ahead of second-placed Simba, while JS Saoura and Vita Club sit third and fourth with five and four points respectively.

Lasarte’s men need to win one of their remaining two games in order to secure their place in the quarter-finals. They will travel to face AS Vita Club in DR Congo, before hosting Algeria’s JS Saoura at Borg El-Arab.

Their squad for their first game saw the return of and Mahmoud Wahid after the duo missed their side’s last game against Petrojet.

Walid Azaro, Ahmed Hamoudi, and Rami Rabia also made the cut, while Walid Soliman, Salah Mohsen, Hossam Ashour, and Hamdi Fathi were left out due to injuries.

Al Ahly managed to beat Vita Club 2-0 at Borg El-Arab in January, thanks to strikes from Nasser Maher and Ali Maaloul.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Aly Lotfy.

Defenders: Mohammed Hany, Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Ayman Ashraf, Ahmed Fathi, Ali Maaloul, Saad Samir, Mahmoud Wahid.

Midfielders: Hesham Mohamed, Karim ‘Nedved’, Nasser Maher, Hamdi Fathi, Ramadan Sobhi, Hussein El-Shahat, Islam Mohareb, Amr El-Sulya, Ahmed Hamoudi.

Forwards: Junior Ajayi, Marwan Mohsen, Walid Azaro.
